On November 20, 2025, the Association of Power Engineers of Ukraine, the Institute of General Power Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Institute of Gas of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine held a roundtable meeting “Transformation of the Energy System. Challenges and Approaches”, at which the principles and practical steps for the transformation and decarbonization of the energy system were discussed.

A year has passed since Georgii Marchenko passed away
A year has passed since Georgii Marchenko, a senior researcher at the Department of Atmospheric Air Protection from Pollution at our institute, passed away.
The 10th International Conference “Theory and Practice of Rational Use of Traditional and Alternative Fuels and Lubricants” was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (July 1-4, 2025).
The 10th Anniversary International Conference “Theory and Practice of Rational Use of Traditional and Alternative Fuels and Lubricants” was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (July 1-4, 2025). Hennadiy Zhuk was a member of the organizing committee of the conference and delivered a welcoming speech at the opening.
The conference was held within the framework of the national project of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine “Experimental and analytical principles of reliability of dual-purpose aviation equipment by improving the technology of using aviation fuels in accordance with the requirements of ASTM and NATO standards”, as well as within the framework of the national project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “Development of technological solutions for obtaining composite motor fuels from secondary raw materials to increase energy security”.
At the section “Energy Safety, Energy Efficiency, Energy Management, Technical Regulation Environmental Safety and Development of Ecologistics, Systems of Utilization and Disposal of Transport and Energy Materials”, Hennadiy Zhuk and Serhii Krushnevych presented a report “Carbon dioxide extraction to increase the calorific value of biogas”, in which they talked about the energy-efficient technology for carbon dioxide extraction from biogas from solid waste landfills, which is being implemented at an existing biogas power plant with the support of the international project “Innovate Ukraine – supporting the energy recovery of Ukraine”.
