On July 10, 2026, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the laureates of the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists for 2024 and presented them with diplomas and awards. The head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation Serhii Babak also congratulated the young scientists.
Congratulations to Maria Volodymyrivna Ostapchuk, an employee of the Gas Institute of the NAS of Ukraine, on receiving the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Young Scientists for 2024!

A working meeting between Naftogaz Group and the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was held
On May 8, 2026, a working meeting of the Naftogaz group (Operations Director M.O. Kolisnyk) and the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Director H.V. Zhuk) was held. The role of natural gas and the prospects for the development of the heat and electricity generation industry in the context of the difficult situation in the energy sector of Ukraine and the European green transition were discussed.
Areas of cooperation between Naftogaz Group and the Gas Institute have been identified on the following issues:
– increasing the efficiency of natural gas use at electricity and heat generation facilities. Introduction of hybrid energy sources of integrated use of RES and natural gas, in particular cogeneration plants and heat pumps;
– attracting local and alternative fuels, balancing them with centralized electricity, heat and gas supply;
– decarbonization of gas-consuming energy facilities by capturing carbon dioxide and producing synthetic gases.
The participants of the meeting agreed on systematic cooperation and the formation of technical proposals for the Naftogaz Group by the Gas Institute.

The winners of the NAS of Ukraine Prize in the nomination “Best popular science publication (series of publications) on scientific developments and achievements, problems of science development and (or) publication of a periodic printed/electronic media about science (magazines, newspapers, websites registered as media, scientific sections of media)” were the Head of the Plasma Processes and Technologies Department of the Institute of Gas of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Viktor Zhovtyansky, the Head of the Department of Software Engineering of the Ivan Pulyuy Ternopil National Technical University, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Mykhailo Petryk, and Senior Researcher of the Ya.S. Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Roman Plyatsko – for the series of publications “Covering the Contribution of Ivan Pulyuy to World Science and Culture”.
