Borys Evhenovych Paton passed away on August 19, 2020
On behalf of the management and staff of the Institute, we express our sincere condolences to relatives, employees of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, employees of the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the NAS of Ukraine, all our colleagues – employees of the NAS of Ukraine, and the entire scientific and technical community of Ukraine about the loss of the most outstanding scientist and organizer of modern science, academician Borys Evhenovych Paton.
Not only an outstanding scientist and organizer left us, but the person who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of Ukraine and human civilization. His unwavering optimism and thirst for knowledge were passed on to others who charging with selfless working and of new discoveries.

On September 28 at the Institute of Gas of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (the NASU) a round table was held on the topic “Prospects for the implementation of innovations in the nuclear power industry of Ukraine”. The event was attended by representatives of the Institute of Gas of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (hereinafter UkrNAT), the Institute for Safety Problems of the Nuclear Power Plant of the National Academy of Sciences, the NNEGC “Energoatom”, the Institute of Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Scientific and Technical Center “Kharkiv Physical Technical Institute”, National Technical University Ukraine “KPI” them. I. Sikorsky (further NTUU “KPI” named after I. Sikorsky), Institute of problems of mathematical machines and systems of NASU, Commodum engineering Ltd.
