On November 6, 2024, the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine held solemn events on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its founding:
- opening of memorial plaques to Academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Igor KARP and Borys BONDARENKO;
- ceremonial meetings;
- announced greetings from the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine;
- Academician-Secretary of the Department of Energy and Energy Technologies of the NAS of Ukraine Oleksandr Kyrylenko announced greetings from the President of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Anatoliy Zagorodnyi, solemnly presented the employees of the institute with awards of the NAS of Ukraine, certificates of the Department of Energy and Energy Technologies of the NAS of Ukraine;
- greetings from the Shevchenkivska (in Kyiv) district State Administration, institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the military, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture etc.;
- the report of the director of the institute on the most important and promising developments of the institute, current international projects carried out by the institute and the scientific journal “Energy technologies and resource conservation”, which is indexed in Scopus.
The topics of the gas institute for the next 5 years correspond to the development of the war and post-war economy of Ukraine: ensuring the reliability of the thermal energy complex of Ukraine; scientific support for energy decentralization through the use of available local fuels; increasing energy efficiency and environmental safety; transition to renewable and alternative fuels (in particular, hydrogen); development of new energy nanomaterials; achieving the standards and requirements of EU legislation. After the solemn meeting, there was a friendly discussion of the history of the Institute’s activities, current issues and plans for the future.
